Abu Dhabi is the capital of the United Arab Emirates and the country's largest emirate with over 1.6 million residents.

AJMAN

 

Ajmān, or Ujman is the smallest member state of the United Arab Emirates, with an area of just 260 square kilometres. Its capital is Ajmān.
Located along the Persian Gulf, it also controls Masfut and Manama, two small, inland enclaves that are primarily agricultural. The population of approximately 235,000 is located mainly in the capital, Ajmān. The population was only 36,100 in 1980 but grew considerably in recent years, due to an influx of people from the neighboring emirates of Dubai, Sharjah, and other countries.
It is presently ruled by Emir Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi. The Crown prince of the Emirate is Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi. His directions have led to massive development and a construction boom in Ajman in the recent years.History of the Ajmān
On 8 January 1820, Sheikh Rashid ibn Humayd Al Nuaimi signed the General Maritime Treaty with Britain, accepting a protectorate to keep the Ottoman Turks out. Like four of its neighbours, Sharjah, Dubai, Ras al-Khaimah and Umm al-Qaiwain, its position on the route to India made it important enough to be recognized as a salute state (be it of the lowest class: 3 guns).
On 2 December 1971, Sheikh Rashid ibn Humayd Al Nuaimi joined the United Arab Emirates.

 

 

SHARJAH


Sharjah, the third biggest Emirate, is a peaceful city lying by the Arabian Gulf. It is bounded by Ajman from the north and Dubai from the south. In 1998, Sharjah was elected as the Cultural Capital of the Arab World by the UNESCO for its continuous developments in arts, education and culture. Besides cultural attractions, Sharjah features a number of parks, lagoons, shopping malls and clubs to provide a complete tasteful experience.

 

FUJAIRAH

The Emirate of Fujairah is one of the seven emirates forming the United Arab Emirates. Situated in the country's east, Fujairah extends 90 kilometres along the Gulf of Oman. The area of Fujairah is approximately 1,165 square kilometres, ranking it as the fifth largest of the emirates. At the last census, in 2005, the Emirate had a population of 118,617. The City of Fujairah is the capital of the Emirate.Under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Mohammad Al Sharqi, the Ruler of Fujairah and Supreme Council member, the Emirate has enjoyed a rapid rate of economic and social development in recent years.Since the establishment of a free trade zone more than a decade ago, commercial activity in the Emirate has flourished. More than 250 companies have invested approximately $350 million in the Fujairah Free Zone across a diverse range of industry sectors such as communications, engineering, manufacturing and trading.Due to its strategic position with the UAE's only access to the Indian Ocean, Fujairah has a bustling, important multipurpose port. Port activities include container handling, cargo services, livestock handling, marine supply and repair and bunkering. In fact, Fujairah ranks as one of the top three bunkering locations in the world, along with Singapore and Rotterdam.Fujairah has also become a booming tourist destination, thanks to the Emirate's unspoiled natural beauty, including magnificent sandy beaches, mountains and oases, fascinating historical attractions and archaeological sites, and year-round sunshine.


RAS AL KHAIMAH


Information about Ras Al Khaimah
Ras Al-Khaimah is one of the United Arab Emirates. It covers an area of 656 square miles (1700 km²). Ras Al Khaimah is in the northern part of the Arabian Peninsula.
It is ruled by Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammad al-Qassimi. It is in the northern part of the UAE bordering Oman. The emirate has a population of about 250,000 inhabitants.
The city has a population of 102,000 (2003 census estimate). It is served by the Ras Al Khaimah International Airport.
The city has two main sections Old Ras Al Khaimah and Nakheel on either side of the creek which flows through Ras Al Khaimah.
History of the Ras al-Khaimah
The city was historically known as Julfar. In the early 18th century the Qawasim clan (Huwayla tribe) established itself in Ras al-Khaimah.
After British occupation (18 December 1819 - July 1821), Sheikh Sultan ibn Saqr al-Qasimi signed in 1822 the General Maritime Treaty with Britain, accepting a protectorate keeping the Ottoman Turks out. Like Ajman, Dubai, Umm al-Qaiwain and Sharjah, its position on the route to India made it important enough to be recognized as a salute state (be it of the lowest class: only 3 guns).
In 1869 Ras al-Khaimah became fully independent from Sharjah. However from September 1900 to 7 July 1921 it was re-incorporated into Sharjah, its neighbour; the last governor became its next independent ruler.

 UMM AL QUWAIN


Known as one of the quieter and more laid back emirates, Umm Al Quwain UAE covers a small area comprising only 800 square meters flanking the Arabian Gulf shoreline. Set between its emirate counterparts Ras Al Khaimah and Ajman, Umm Al Quwain travel is mostly short and sweet as the area is only five kilometers long by one kilometer wide. Umm Al Quwain UAE is bestowed with abundant natural beauty. Lush, coastal mangroves, sweeping sand dunes and the inland oasis all characterize the emirate laden with natural allure. Umm Al Quwain is also the emirate’s capital and brims with many private companies, abundant markets, several banks and the typical Ruler’s office.


DUBAI

 

Dubai is located on the Eastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula, in the south west corner of the Arabian Gulf. It is extremely well known for its warm hospitality and rich cultural heritage, and the Emirati people are welcoming and generous in their approach to visitors.

Dubai Nature : Dubai, with an area of 3,885 square kilometres, is the second largest emirate in the UAE. Situated on the banks of the Dubai Creek, a natural inlet from the Gulf which divides the city into the Deira district to its north and Bur Dubai on its south.
Dubai History: Some 800 members of the Bani Yas tribe, led by the Maktoum Family, settled at the mouth of the creek in 1833. The creek was a natural harbour and Dubai soon became a center for the fishing, pearling and sea trade.
Dubai Economy: Dubai has changed dramatically over the last three decades, becoming a major business centre with a more dynamic and diversified economy. Dubai enjoys a strategic location and serves as the biggest re-exporting centre in the Middle East.
Heritage & Culture: Dubai’s culture is rooted in Islam, providing a strength and inspiration that touches all aspects of everyday life. Virtually every neighborhood has its own mosque, where the faithful congregate for prayer five times everyday.
